Depending on where you’re coming from, your trip to Obertraun could be no sweat at all or it could drag on forever. We’ve put together some handy travel tips that will help you start your next unforgettable escape on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, put in your passport, travel documents, credit cards and medications. Next, you’ll want some in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy novel and a phone crammed with your favourite shows are some great options. If you hope to take a quick nap, a quality neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some deodorant so you’ll touchdown looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and poisons, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane are not the best place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and remember to bring a sweater as it tends to get cool in the cabin during long-haul flights. Enclosed, flat shoes are also recommended.
- A serious condition by the name of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation. Doing regular leg and foot exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a good pair of compression socks may also help.
