Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you prepare well enough. We've compiled a list of handy travel tips that will get your Ocean City holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a great experience if you carry the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a good book. Next, leave space in your carry-on bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, your medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your precious pocket knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of your aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and take a sweater as the temperature can drop inside the cabin. Closed-toed, flat shoes are always a good idea too.
- A serious condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing leg and foot exercises in your seat helps to prevent this developing. Wearing a good-quality pair of compression socks or tights also helps reduce the risk.
