No matter where you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well prepared. We've made a list of handy travel tips that will get your Oleiros escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a great experience if you pack the right stuff. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and a few magazines. Secondly, find room in your carry-on bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any vital medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by layering up, and wear slightly roomy, flat shoes like slip-ons.
- Caused by sustained periods of immobility, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect passengers during long flights. Reduce the risks by drinking water, keeping your ankles and legs moving and wearing compression socks to help improve your circulation.
