Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've planned ahead. We've put together a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Omboue holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a pleasure if you've got all the right things. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare change of clothes and a good book. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, your important medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have a sharp object lurking in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include flammable or explosive substances, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to feel as comfortable as you can. Choose a pair of flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural fibers and remember to bring a sweater in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
