We've pulled together all the info you need to make your journey as stress-free as possible. Follow our insider tips and you'll be speeding through airport security and having a ball in Onis before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a comfortable experience if you take the right things. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and something to read. Next, make room in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow too. Lastly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and poisons, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of your plane are not the best place for a fashion parade. Wear comfortable clothes and take a sweater as it can get chilly inside the cabin on long-haul flights. Flat, enclosed shoes are also a good idea.
- A condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity. Walking up and down the aisle and doing leg and foot exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this developing. Wearing a good-quality pair of compression socks or tights can also help.
