We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey as stress-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be breezing through the airport and seeing the best of Panajachel before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a stress-free experience if you take the right things. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, leave space in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, your important medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to bring your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and fuels, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by dressing in layers, and opt for easy-to-remove footwear like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
