We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight an enjoyable experience. Follow our insider tips and you'll be hightailing it through airport security and having a ball in Pingwe in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you take the right things. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, leave space in your carry-on bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any vital medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and strong acids, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and choose shoes that are enclosed, flat and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
