We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey an enjoyable experience. Follow our tips and you'll be cruising through airport security and having a blast in Plymouth before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be easy if you pack the right stuff. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare pair of socks and a few magazines. Next, make room in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, your important medications and maybe a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and fireworks, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to be as comfortable as possible. Pick easy-to-remove footwear, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and remember to take a sweater in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
