Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well organised. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Puerto Montt holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, put in your passport, travel docs, bank cards and vital medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling novel and a laptop crammed with your favourite movies are good options. If you plan to catch more than just forty winks, a quality neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you arrive looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and poisons, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Choose comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes in the cabin by dressing in layers, and opt for flat, slightly roomy shoes like sneakers.
- Most travellers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To lessen your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks and do gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat.
