Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're well prepared. We've put together a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your San Bartolome holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a pleasure if you bring the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare change of clothes and a good read. Secondly, make room in your hand luggage for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any vital medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and fireworks, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by wearing layers, and wear slightly roomy, flat footwear like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
