If you're poorly prepared, travelling can be testing. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these tips and tricks and enjoy a pleasant start to your time in San Carlos. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, pack in your passport, travel docs, wallet and medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy book and a phone filled with your favourite movies are some terrific options. If you hope to catch up on some sleep, a quality neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, leave some space for a few toiletry items so you'll arrive feeling fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) lurking in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable substances, like aerosols and matches, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your top priority is to feel as comfortable as you can. Opt for slip-on footwear, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to bring a jacket in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Most travellers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of sitting. To lower your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks and do gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat.
