We’ve rounded up all the info you need to make your flight a pleasant experience. Follow our tips and you’ll be hightailing it through airport security and having a ball in San Diego in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be easy if you’ve got all the right things. First of all you’ll need toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items can differ between airlines, the general rule to follow is nothing flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, pocket knives, fuel and fireworks. Sports equipment like baseball bats, and objects that could injure passengers, such as firearms and ammunition, can’t come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of your airplane are not the place for a fashion parade. Layer yourself up with comfortable clothes and don’t forget to bring a sweater as it can get quite cool in the cabin. Closed-toed, flat shoes are always a good idea too.
- Most travellers are aware of DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of sitting. There are numerous ways to mitigate your risk. Wear a quality pair of compression socks or tights, stay well hydrated and move your legs and feet. Walk around the cabin when possible or try out some exercises in your seat.
