We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight a stress-free experience. Follow our insider tips and you'll be hightailing it through the airport and having a ball in San Jose before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be easy if you carry the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh set of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, your medications and maybe a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, don't forget to take your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have sharp or pointed objects lurking in your hand luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable goods, such as fuel and fireworks, and gels and liquids in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main aim is to be as comfortable as you can. Opt for slip-on footwear, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and remember to take a pullover in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- It's likely you've heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of sitting. To lower your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression socks and move your legs and feet often.
