Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've prepared well. We've made a list of handy hints that will help get your Saumur holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be easy if you carry the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a few magazines. Next, make room in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, any vital medications and maybe a proper neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items differs between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, blades, spray paint and fireworks. Sporting equipment like golf clubs, and items that could harm other people, such as swords and guns, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should always be your prime concern when picking what to wear during your flight. Consider your footwear choice carefully too, as swelling of the feet and ankles are quite common. Flat, slightly roomy shoes are always a sensible way to go.
- It's likely you've heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of inactivity. There's plenty you can do to reduce your risk. Wear a pair of compression tights or socks, drink lots of water often and remember to keep your legs and feet moving. Wander around the cabin or try out some simple stretches in your seat.
