If you're not prepared, travelling can be a real challenge. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these useful tips and enjoy a comfortable start to your getaway in SeaTac. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you pack the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletries, such as lip balm and hand cream, a clean set of clothes and a good read. Secondly, make room in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, your medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp or pointed objects hiding in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive products, such as fuel and matches, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by dressing in layers, and opt for flat, closed-toe shoes like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
