Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've prepared well. We've put together a list of handy tips that will get your Selçuk escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a comfortable experience if you pack the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a few magazines. Next, find room in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, any vital medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your precious pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are no place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and opt for shoes that are flat and easy to remove.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
