We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our top tips and you'll be speeding through the airport and discovering Shire in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, pack in your passport, travel docs, bank cards and vital medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling book and a tablet filled with your favourite movies are good options. If you intend to take a quick nap, a quality neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some facial wipes to ensure you arrive feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and poisons, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your number one priority is to be as comfortable as you can. Don layers of breathable clothing and don't forget to pack a pullover just in case you get cold. Pick well-fitting, flat shoes as your feet may swell during the journey. Leave the stilettos and chunky boots in your checked luggage.
- Most of us have heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of sitting. There are many ways to lower your risk. Don a pair of compression socks or tights, stay hydrated and remember to keep your legs and feet moving. Do a few laps of the cabin or try out some exercises in your seat.
