Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've planned ahead. We've compiled a list of handy travel tips that will help get your St. Pölten escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a stress-free experience if you take the right things. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a clean set of clothes and a few magazines. Next, make room in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow as well. Lastly, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a pocket knife lurking in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable goods, like aerosols and matches, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Wear layers and choose shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
