No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've planned ahead. We've compiled a list of handy hints that will get your Tha Tako holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having an amazing travel experience is to pack ahead. Start with the essentials: passport, official ID, credit cards and any vital medications. Next, bring items that'll help keep you entertained, like some electronic gadgets or a magazine. It's also smart to pack your chargers, a quality neck pillow and a pair of headphones. Finally, be sure to toss in toiletry items like a toothbrush, lip balm and a spare set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like a pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by layering up, and pick flat, slightly roomy shoes like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
