We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight as stress-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be cruising through airport security and having a ball in Uluwatu in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a cruisy experience if you take the right things. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletries, such as lip balm and hand cream, a clean set of clothes and a few magazines. Next, find room in your hand luggage for your electronic gadgets, chargers, medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your precious pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Opt for a pair of flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to bring a pullover in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Wander around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
