Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're well organised. We've put together a list of handy tips that will get your Umag escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be easy if you pack the right things. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare pair of socks and a magazine or two. Next, make room in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items differs between airlines, the general rule of thumb is nothing flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes things like tools, metal cutlery, fireworks and fuel. Sports equipment like hockey sticks, and items that could harm passengers, such as firearms and ammunition, won't be allowed on board either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main concern when deciding what to wear on board. Loose, breathable clothing is a wise choice, as are flat, closed-toe shoes.
- Caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect passengers during long-haul flights. Reduce the risks by staying hydrated, keeping your lower limbs moving and wearing compression socks to help your circulation.
