Depending on where you're coming from, your flight to Urayasu could be simple and straightforward or it could drag on forever. We've pulled together some useful hints that will help you start your next big adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a comfortable experience if you take the right things. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a clean set of clothes and a good book. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, your important medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items differs between airlines, the general rule of thumb is nothing flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, pocket knives, fireworks and fuel. Sports equipment like ice skates, and items that could harm passengers, such as swords and batons, aren't allowed in the cabin either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to feel as comfortable as possible. Choose a pair of flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to bring a pullover in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Walk around the cabin and give your legs a stretch or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
