Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you prepare well enough. We've put together a list of handy hints that will get your Vals escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack your passport, official ID, bank cards and daily medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy book and a tablet filled with your favourite movies are some great options. If you hope to take a quick nap, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, make room for a few toiletry items so you'll arrive at your destination looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items can differ between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, knives, fuels and bleaching agents. Sporting equipment like baseball bats, and objects that could harm passengers, such as swords and batons, won't be allowed on board either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and opt for shoes that are flat and easy to remove.
- You've probably heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To minimize your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression socks or tights and move your legs and feet often.
