We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey as enjoyable as possible. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be hightailing it through the airport and having a ball in Vieille Case in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a great experience if you pack the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh set of clothes and a good novel. Next, make room in your carry-on bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) hiding in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable substances, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by donning layers, and wear flat, easy-to-remove shoes like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
