If you're not prepared, air travel can be tough. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these useful tips and enjoy a stress-free start to your holiday in Vladivostok. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, put in your passport, official ID, cash and medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy novel and a tablet filled with your favourite movies are some wonderful options. If you hope to catch more than just forty winks, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you touchdown feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and gasoline, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your top priority is to be as comfortable as possible. Choose a pair of slip-on shoes, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to bring a jacket in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
