If you're not prepared, airports and flying can be overwhelming. But there's no need to panic. Follow these helpful hints for a worry-free start to your getaway in Wando. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a stress-free experience if you carry the right things. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, leave space in your carry-on bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any vital medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, remember to bring your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and fuels, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The main aim is to make yourself as comfortable as possible. Layer yourself up in natural fibers and remember to bring a cardigan in case it gets cool in the cabin. Opt for flat, slightly roomy shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the journey. Leave the high heels and chunky boots in your luggage.
- Unfortunately, a risk of flying long-haul is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To prevent this from happening, take every opportunity to stretch your legs and walk around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are another easy way to help reduce this risk.
