Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're well organised. We've made a list of handy hints that will get your West Bay holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having an amazing travel experience is to pack in advance. Start with the essentials: passport, official ID, bank cards and important medications. Next, bring items that'll help keep you entertained, like some electronic gadgets or a thrilling book. It's also wise to bring your chargers, a neck pillow and a pair of headphones. Finally, be sure to pop in toiletries like a toothbrush, facial wipes and a clean set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like a pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes in the cabin by layering up, and pick flat, closed-toe footwear like slip-ons.
- Caused by sustained periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot condition that can affect some passengers on long-haul flights. Reduce the risks by drinking water, keeping your feet and legs moving and wearing compression socks or tights.
