No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're prepared. We've made a list of handy hints that will get your West Valley City holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a cruisy experience if you pack the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and a good novel. Next, find room in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, any vital medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) lurking in one of the compartments of your hand luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive substances, such as aerosol cans and bleach, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort really should be the goal when deciding what to wear during your flight. Consider your footwear with care too, as swelling of the feet and ankles are a common occurrence. Flat, slightly roomy shoes are your best bet.
- A condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation. Doing leg and foot exercises while seated helps to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a pair of compression tights or socks is also a wise idea.
