Booked this trip back in April through Expedia — flight and 3 nights’ stay, paid in full. That should’ve been the end of it. Instead, Sonder kept bombarding me with emails saying “complete your reservation.” Fearing I’d lose my booking, I entered my card info. That mistake cost me another $468 (the cost of the entire stay). I’ve been trying to get that duplicate charge resolved for months. Communication from Sonder has been nothing short of a nightmare — slow, confusing, and mostly unhelpful. As of today, it’s still unresolved.
A couple of days before arrival, I get an email saying we were assigned a 2-bedroom unit with no balcony — completely different from the 1 bed/1 bath with balcony I booked. There was no point in arguing since there’s no front desk, no staff on site, and no way to resolve anything in real time.
The unit itself was dirty on arrival — not at all what you’d expect from a company that sells itself as modern and streamlined. With no front desk, you’re stuck with their clunky email system, and “support” feels like shouting into the void.
Bottom line: I paid twice, got the wrong room, had zero real support, and had all the drama before the trip not been a thing I would have pushed the cleanliness and room change under the rug. but it just added on to frustration and I will never book with sonder again..if you're concerned about bookings, or any sort of accountability, avoid Sonder.
