"This is a unique property that was once the McDonald’s executive retreat and next to the former hamburger university.Large manicured grounds around a man made lake that were a pleasure to walk around. There were swans, swallows, a deer, a great blue heron, and red wing black birds.The room was large, recently renovated with a great bed and shower. There is an informal cafe for breakfast and a restaurant that opens for dinner with a great bar with outstanding staff. It’s about an hour drive to Chicago. The food was just ok. The walk from the parking lot to the hotel was around 5 min, which was unexpected and valet service is only available on weekends."
