"I had a lovely stay. The staff were kind, welcoming, and very helpful, and the hotel was comfortable and enjoyable throughout my visit. The only small difficulty was finding the location on my first arrival, but once I found it everything was excellent. Thank you very much for your hospitality."

"This place was such a special experience! The owner and chef of the sushi restaurant downstairs is absolutely lovely and crafted us the best dinner of our entire trip! The rooms are private and comfortable and full of character. This is definitely one of the most authentic and memorable stays of our trip."

"Location and staff were great but amenities were lacking. No toothbrush? Check-in time only between 4-8 pm? Property had no onsen? These are pretty standard items for Japanese hotels and for the price, they should have been provided."

"Very friendly and helpful staff.
Very clean and comfortable Japanese style room with private toilet and basin. Easy access to shower and to the very relaxing traditional bathtub.
Excellent Japanese breakfast with great selection of dishes from fresh local ingredients."

"Our stay at Shiomachi Roya in Tomonoura was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. I was impressed by the renovations done to turn this old merchant house into an inn. I liked the design and decor. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Because this particular house (Roya) has only 4 rooms to stay in, the staff are located at another sister inn literally just around the corner, one minute away. Everything you need is within walking distance in this small town. Staying here enhanced...

"別棟の部屋でした。
この部屋はミニキッチン・電子レンジ・冷蔵庫・風呂場と一通り揃ってて良かったです。
翌朝早い出発だったので、使用しませんでしたが、2Fにテラスもあったようです。
ただ、電源コンセントが少なかったので、電源タップ（延長コード）があると、良かったかも。
また、ロフトへの階段は急で狭かったので、深夜のトイレは慎重に昇降しました。"
