"The room was spacious. There was a mini fridge, no freezer. There were receptacles for charging your cell phone. They had shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the tub area. No makeup remover or shower cap, but I didn't ask for them. May have an iron at the front but not sure. Staff was friendly. No break"

"The entrance areas were not clean and in need of repairs. The restaurant was not open for dinner on week nights. No warning was given about how busy the restaurant would be on Mother's Day. We couldn't even get in. The room was very clean and the staff very attentive."

"Rooms were fine and location was okay. It's quite convenient if you're arriving or departing by VIA Rail, as Union Station is just a block or two away. The breakfast is a bit hit and miss but overall pretty good. Cereals, yogurt, canned fruit cocktail and plenty of bread options including English muffins. There are hot choices each morning but only two, which leads to some odd combinations. One morning the hot breakfast options consisted of just hashbrowns and bacon -- no eggs. The next day...

"we were initially put into their worst room im sure. it had torn curtains, dirty floors, workmen tools in the bathroom and wood dust even on the toilet seat, dusty shoe prints on the seat bench, peeled desk-chair, dried spill marks on furniture, gum on sofa... it was unbelievable! i was so upset. My husband spoke with them and they instantly apologized and gave us a very clean room with none of the problems. i felt very disrespected and profiled (I am African-Canadian). "

"We love this hotel! It feels smaller and very service oriented. The staff were amazing! The Gold service was absolutely excellent with a wonderful breakfast each day and friendly and professional Concierge. The location of the Fairmont Winnipeg is also perfect for all sorts of walking or exploring cafes, bars and restaurants in the Exchange District. Love it!"

"Hotel was being used as a housing unit for some misplaced individuals. We thought it would be fine so we proceeded with our stay at the hotel only to arrive and immediately ask that we be switched to a new hotel. Floors 1-9 were FULL, consequently could not use any of the amenities they had to offer us. We were escorted even in the elevators by security with random people running in and out of the building a very unsettling experience. Area around the hotel was not nice either. "

"I did not even stay… I did not even get out of my truck in the parking lot… This hotel looks like it’s part of a strip mall, you wouldn’t even think it was a hotel, there was a dumpster right outside the front door. It was in a sketchy neighborhood. I didn’t feel safe getting out of my vehicle. I booked through Expedia and I have been trying to get a refund. Very sketchy, nothing like advertised on Expedia. I was warned after the fact that that is not a good area, vehicles get broken into all...
