"Probably, if not the best hotel in Colombo. I was assigned to a room that faces the sea as well as Biera Lake. The hotel, which is also accessible through one of the largest mall is a huge bonus. This gives plenty of options for food. The breakfast at the hotel was amazing. Certainly will return if I’m headed back to Colombo. "

"At check-in, we were told our room was not ready even though we arrived 2 hrs after check in time, when I questioned why that was the case for a “5 star” hotel, they miraculously found another room available to give us, figure that! There were plenty of friendly staff, but they were not attentive. We had dinner in the Indian restaurant - good quality and nice food. Overall, I would say “faded glory” in style and character - may not stay again here."

"Great location and nice to stay in such an historic hotel. The room was comfortable but lacked some of the modern amenities - although recently renovated. Only warm water at best in the shower. Breakfast was great as was the meal we had in the 1864 Restaurant. We would definitely stay there again as the overall experience outweighed the few negatives."
