The property was as expected. It was a clean room that appeared to have been recently updated. Carpets were clean, towels, bedding good. We had to ask the staff to get the TV connected, ran out of shower soap, no disposable cups, no garbage can in the restroom, lots of homeless people around the hotel, no insulation between the rooms , but overall not bad for the price we paid.
Expensive hotel for the quality. Bathroom sink was falling off the wall. And the AC unit, though it was working, was falling apart. Bed not comfortable at all!!!
Front Desk Staff were nice and helpful. Unfortunately, there was not breakfast as advertised. Made me sad.

The staff here are great; very helpful and accommodating when need be. I have stayed here numerous times and will again. Yes the hotel is dated and some parts are a little run down, but it’s plenty passable and a comfortable stay. Great price as well.
Staff was friendly so no complaints there, my complaint is it's advertised as a howard johnson but it's just affiliated, its actually a norwood inn, not many amenities and needs to be updated
Disgusting, crusty blankets and black mold on the wall with the shower. Roaches. The hotel room reeked. The staff was unhelpful, we asked for soap continuously for two days and did not get any. No complimentary breakfast due to renovations. People were even asking us how our stay was going because they were unsatisfied with their stay too. Do NOT come here, even if you think the price is fair.
Terrible service. We paid a premium expecting a breakfast like the one shown on their website. When I went to inquire about it, a man started shouting at me, claiming I was lying and that I must have been looking at photos of a different hotel—not that one. I pointed out how illogical that was: why would I look at photos, make a reservation, and spend the night at a hotel if the pictures on the website actually belonged to a different place? It was ridiculous. And that wasn't even the worst part: the toilet bowl had fecal residue in it, and the smell was horrible. To top it all off, the place felt like a drug den, and the door to the room across the hall kept slamming all night long. I had just undergone surgery four days prior and needed a pleasant, clean place to rest; instead, it turned out to be the worst experience we’ve ever had. Please, do not stay here—it is absolutely not worth the cost.
Firstly, when we walked in the front lobby was under construction, all of the fire doors were completely closed and there was no magnetic latching which is standard for fire doors hold them open. These are standard items and any other Hotel around the US. Then once we got to our room the floor was dirty very minimally vacuumed, air conditioner needs service because it is too loud, the toilet seat itself was loose giving the feeling of the rooms not being properly maintained for inspector. In the morning when we went down for breakfast the breakfast area it was completely closed off and was under construction. Staff did not give us a local voucher for a diner or any other restaurants as on their website and on hotels.com it shows continental breakfast included.
Property was under construction and the room didn't even have a microwave or fridge, no water in the shower, and the hallways smelled of sewage. But the room was clean. It just was not a pleasant stay.
We couldn’t stay. They had roaches. The guy at the front desk was nice and he tried to help by getting us a different room, but there were still bugs. We left and ended up driving straight home Chicago to NC. Over 12 hours… very exhausting.
Owners are trying hard to improve things and were very helpful when I needed things.
Not the cleanest hotel, but it is a very good deal and I appreciated my stay.
I found a bed bug and saw a roach on the wall... the lamp shade was torn up and bathroom door was discolored just not a good experience. I was issued a refund the next day however I did sleep at the hotel.
No breakfast, no gym..1st.room big water leak from the ceiling at the door enter big water pool...
Change the room 2nd..a/c unit big noise
..change the room..something better but tv didn't work for 3 days stayed
I dont recommend this hotel...
Area many homeless..garbage everywhere
Holes in the walls, no breakfast or pool but seeing the place I wouldn't want either of those. Floors in room have never been cleaned, towels stained. Shampoo n body wash empty. My room smelled so bad that I gagged when I walked in. Only thing I can say is that I found no bugs. Bed was clean but pillows were awful.
This place is horrible.
No swimming pool no breakfast as advertised.
The place is full of mold and dirty and poorly maintained.
The photos on Expedia are not representing the reality.
Don't go there!!!
