"This was a lovely little spot. The room was immaculately clean. The host provided us with a complementary bottle of wine upon checking in. He was very helpful in recommending places to eat. It’s a natural setting. The morning wakes you with roosters crowing and donkeys braying. It was beautiful. The decor is Italian baroque so don’t expect modern, but it reminds me of my grandmother and I felt at home and safe. Dario was very, very nice."

Agrigento

"Super duper breakfast, excellent rain shower, very comfortable king size bed with some of the best pillows we’ve found at any hotel. Quiet and secluded. Finding it was a chore because google navigation was acting up with us, also the driveway was hard to find, kind of hidden with all the bushes and brush along the road. People drive pretty fast along that stretch of highway so slowing down is difficult. A sign would definitely help. The young lady who runs the place is very helpful and...

10. Villa Athena Resort

"The Villa Athena is an amazing luxury hotel with an amazing location. With a direct view of Greek temples, as well as private access, sets this property apart from others. In addition the rooms are well appointed and comfortable. We also enjoyed our private balcony with direct access to the property and pool area. The staff was welcoming and attentive. I like the size of the resort as it feels more intimate and personalized. We also took advantage of the amazing restaurant as well. We...

Agrigento Old Town

"We had a lovely stay at Euterpe. Their motto, “for the luxury traveler,” really does ring true. Our room was beautiful and filled with thoughtful touches. The Italian-made bathroom products were top-notch, and Euterpe was the only place during our travels in Italy that provided dental kits, a shaving kit and a comb without our even asking! The linens and towels were exceptionally luxurious, the minibar prices very reasonable, and we were welcomed with a small bottle of quality wine and a lovely...

"We visited in September 2026 and, if you're visiting shortly after this date, expect a work-in-progress. Let's start with the amazing: outstanding gardens, pool, landscaping and just the general luxurious feel of the place. The suite we had was excellent as well, with a few issues (weird lighting controls, typical in Europe so no points lost there) and a glass door on the toilet room (gross, hotels need to stop doing this). Strong wifi. Comfy bed. Great AC. Friendly staff. Great breakfast! I...
