First the pros. It's biggest asset is that it the only hotel right on the beach. And the beach is lovely. A fairly decent buffet breakfast is included at their restaurant right on the beach. The beach room where we stayed was a little run down but kept quite clean. The front desk staff was quite helpful and speak English. A big downside is obnoxiously loud live music on the beach outside the restaurant until 10:30 Friday and Saturday. So loud I put on my noise cancelling headphones and watched videos until the din stopped.

We were staying at Tan Son Nhat for little over a week and had a wonderful experience. The location is absolutely beautiful and the beach is stunning! We stayed in one of the bungalows with garden view and even if the room perhaps was a tiny bit run down it’s was very charming, spacious and there was really nothing that bothered us! Even with the garden view we were just a few steps away from the beach. Staff was always friendly and we felt very comfortable staying here with our son, 6 months. Would definitely come back!

Paid booking....but actually no booking
When we arrived the staff had no idea about our booking, after a long day of travelling this was more than a little bit annoying. After about 30 minutes and proving we actually had a paid reservation for a beachfront bungalow there was no such accommodation available. One lady at reception seemed perplexed as to why we hadn't booked on Agoda. I'm sorry if you offer your hotel on multiple 3rd party sites you should have the capacity to monitor and service them all. We got told that we would have to spend the night in a lesser room and we could move the next day. Having booked 9 months prior if we chose that room it would have been fine but we didn't. They didn't offer an explanation or any sort of remuneration for the error, not even a free beer at the bar. We did check the current rate for the rooms and we had paid substantially less than the going rate for the premier bungalow and all the other rooms but that's why you book early and take advantage of flash sales. We shouldn't have been disadvantaged for being organised. Next morning I went to reception and they seemed to have no record of us 'needing to move rooms' so I had to go through the whole thing again. It was awkard for them and awkard for us, we are not difficult customers we just want what we paid for. When we finally got our room it was excellent, as described and despite the rocky start we were happy. Due to the language barrier we are unsure where the problem occured.

Good place to relax and explore Con dao
We had a beach bungalow, which we highly recommend. You open the doors and step on a bounty beach with palm trees, amazing! However, rooms were rather outdated and windows and doors didn’t fully close, so lots of bugs in the room and some moult in the shower. Breakfast was good, definitely if you like Vietnamese breakfast. Rather early though, and in general a lot of noise till late (11pm) and early morning (from 6am). So little too to sleep. Bar and restaurant of the hotel have slow staff, don’t see you at all, not much inspiring food. Bar at the beach is really good though. All in all, we think the resort is located on the best beach of Con Dao (and cleaned from the loads of plastic you see elsewhere), you have a scenic place close to city Center and with the beach bungalows you’ll love this place.

Perfect location on the beach. We were in the garden bungalow as the beach bungalows were sold out. No problems - still less than a minute to the beach! Restaurant food is nice. Breakfast has so much choice (pho, dumplings, fruit, omelette/eggs, fried rice and also bread for toast / jam). They helped us rent scooters. The team were so friendly and kind. Thanks for a great stay!

A very good choice for your Con Dao stay
This is a completely acceptable resort to stay at and I would definitely stay there again. Most of the issues it has come from communication problems, honestly. The bed in my ocean view villa (worth the upgrade, do it!) was basically on the floor and I have moderate arthritis problems. After a miserable first night in the bed I asked for it to be raised (by putting another mattress, or 2 twin mattresses side by side underneath the king mattress) and I had to ask 3 times in the day for it to happen. It finally did and I had much better sleep for the rest of the trip, but why did I have to ask 3 times? I also asked for extra towels at one point and never got them. Little things like that can impact the enjoyment of a guest's stay and it really shouldn't be happening. My other complaint is that they don't have nearly enough seating on the beach. Some light metal lounge chairs that can be moved around by guests would be very much appreciated as they don't have a pool area to lounge in. Otherwise, it's a great place to stay in Con Dao. The hotel is situated a comfortable walking distance to town. The restaurant always had delicious food and a good breakfast. The room was spacious and comfortable besides the super low bed. I would definitely stay here again.

The beach was delightful. Breakfast was great. I stayed in a bungalow (without a view of the ocean) and it was very nice with a front porch. They recently build and opened hotel style rooms. I looked at those and they were well done.

In need of improvement
Needs a lot of help to improve as a tourist business as service poor and limited menu, breakfast etc.. Beach outlook over a pier not what’s shown in promotion photos. Also birds, such as pigeons, kept in cruel conditions - small cages etc . Would recommend staying at hotel next door as has pool and good food.
This is the good view but to left is an ugly pier.
Birds kept in crowded cramped cages in hotel grounds.

The food was dismal; several of the waiters seemed completely unfriendly, with no attempt at good service. The air conditioning was barely adequate. Good things: location, beach, shady patio. The people at the front desk were pleasant and helpful.

When you compare the price to what you get, this hotel is 5 stars. We stayed in the beachfront bungalows. They aren't 5 star luxury, but it was about $100AU per night. It was certainly not camping either. Location is beautiful. English standard is lower than you would normally expect- but it is good compared to the island itself as english is very limited. They have just completed the construction of the new "main building" but my review does not reflect that. It literally openned as we were checking out.

Tolles Hotel am schönen Sanstrand.
Gutes Hotel direkt am schönen Sandstrand im Ort. Die Beachfront Bungalows sind toll. Nur die Betten, speziell die Matratzen sind nicht gut. Man merkt jede einzelne Feder. Aktuell gibt es auch nur diese wenigen Bungalows. Das Hotel wir allerdings gerade um ein großes Gebäude erweitert, in dem ca. 200 weitere Gäste unterkommen sollen. Ich vermute, dass es noch im Frühjahr 2020 Eden Betrieb aufnimmt. Mit der Ruhe ist es dann vermutlich vorbei.

We stayed 2 nights. The hotel has so much potential with a great location. However the lack of Service and the lack of cleanliness made this stay less comfortable especially for the price. The room smelled very bad due to the humidity and it reminded us to the smell of dog. The bathroom as well was moldy (also because it is an outdoor bathroom). The service is also quite bad. Breakfast is only until 9am which for a resort is very very early. We arrived at 9.15 and they didn’t even offer us coffee. We also wanted to rent a motorbike but did not get any help. Overall a couple of things could be improved and this resort would be really amazing.

Very friendly staff, clean, value for money
Very nice and recommendable hotel. Good value for money. Staff was very helpful. Pool area was good, though a little worn. We had a wonderful room, clean and spacious (we booked a large room and they even upgraded us). Not a cockroach in sight. Breakfast ok. Only minor issues: low pressure on hot water in shower/bath. And the jacuzzi in the room (wich we were upgraded to, but didn't pay extra for) did not work (rusty water, almost no hot water, no jacuzzi effect.

Spacious Beach bungalows in an amazing location set behind gardens and palm trees overlooking stunning white sand beach on bay. The bungalow, bedding and towels all a little tired. Liked the outside bathroom and great shower. Reception helpful and gave us mosquito nets which were needed. Gardens really well kept and housekeeping lovely and did a thorough clean everyday. Hammocks and swings on the beach a nice touch. Beach also clean unlike previous reviewers observations though sandflies still a problem- hotel warned us though. The main disappointment was the restaurant. They were building a new hotel behind it so the back wall is corrugated iron sheeting and noisy and the food and drinks not great also staff there not very welcoming or helpful (unlike reception and housekeeping- almost felt independent if the rest of the resort). Overall happy with the stunning setting and spacious rooms.

The location and service was great. No hot water for showers, otherwise accommodation was good.

Beautiful location in front of the beach
The hotel location is in front of ocean so that you can walk out the beach. The cabins are surrounded by the trees, plants and beautiful greeny. However, the wooden cabin conditions are too old, lacking of well maintenance. Bed mattress is too soft causing back aching in the morning. There were inserts in the cabin. Restaurant for the breakfast under the large trees and looking out to the beach. Beautiful!

La mer à quelques pas dans un espace verdoyant
Immersion totale dans la nature. Il y a tout autour des bungalows de la verdure, des potagers et des animaux. Même les chambres sont dans cet esprit car notre salle de bain avait un mur végétal. Le personnel est agréable. Petit déjeuner correct mais la café est 100 fois trop fort ! C'est avec ca qu'ils doivent faire décoller les fusées ! Nous avions choisi une chambre avec vue sur mer. Pour nous cela a vraiment fait la différence, quelle plaisir de voir et d'entendre la mer à tout moment. Notre chambre était la 212 et nous y étions très bien.

Vor allem das Personal ist super. Lage zum Strand auch gut sowie zentrale Lage mit vielen Restaurants in der Umgebung. Gibt noch schönere Strände auf der Insel, die kann manmit dem Roller erkundigen.

Lovely hotel well recommended
Great stay. Really lovely hotel. The individual bungalows are very quaint. Literally a few strides to the beach which is clean and quiet and restful. Nice breakfast. Staff lovely. Very clean place. Easy walk into centre literally 10minutes

Séjour parfait dans ce petit ressort. Transfert gratuit de l'aéroport à l'hôtel (A/R). Bien accueilli. Cadre paradisiaque au bord de l'eau dans un environnement végétalisé. Chambre impeccable. Restauration et service de qualité, idem petit-déjeuner. Bon rapport qualité-prix. Ne vous fiez pas à l'entrée du ressort qui ne paie pas de mine, construction en cours à l'entrée de l'hôtel d'un nouveau bâtiment pour future réception, restaurant et chambres (mais aucun bruit gênant). Vous ne serez pas déçu de votre séjour.

Wir sind angekommen und haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt. Es war megasauber, jeden Tag wurde gereinigt und es gab täglich neue Handtücher. Gegen die Moskitos gab es eine echt wirkungsvolle Duftlampe und es gab mehr als genug Platz für all unsere Sachen. Das Frühstücksbuffet war der Hammer. Eine große Auswahl an Asiatisch / Amerikanisch. Das Personal war superhöflich, immer hilfsbereit und spricht gutes Englisch. Die gesamte Anlage ist sehr sauber, gepflegt und einfach nur schön. Besonders gefeiert haben wir das Freiluftbadezimmer!

Avoid
Damp room that leaked in the rain! Stains on sheets. Bathroom dark. Window in bathroom would not shut. Halloween party had blaring music till late that was for staff and family. Avoid this place at all costs. Two nights in hell. Do yourself a favour and book into Villa Maison for same price.
