"Showed up, the smell outside was horrible (not their fault though). Checked in, asked about their continental breakfast that was advertised, and informed they did away with that a while ago. Took the room keys and entered the room. It smelled musty, no AC on, and it didn’t resemble the room picture that was advertised. Wood floors, while clean, were a little tacky. The AC was plugged in, but the RFI switch was popped. When I popped it back to turn on the plug, the AC just whined a little, with no air blowing. The bathroom, while clean, was old, with the tub corroded around the drain, and the drain stopper that should have been connected to the drain, lay broken off on the side of the tub. We immediately went back and told them we were not staying, left the keys, and had to book another hotel further up the road. My wife is from here (Chincoteague), and I was stationed on Chincoteague with the Coast Guard in years past. We know that the property has been around for decades. We moved out in 2002, and even then, it’s known as a cheap hotel to avoid. With the pics and description on Hotels.com, we thought it had been remodeled and improved. Unfortunately, no such luck. We will not be looking for a stay there, ever, and probably not using Hotels.com, since we can’t trust their ratings nor recommendations. We were thoroughly disappointed. We asked on April 1 for a refund due to false advertising (if nothing else, for the missing breakfast). We’ve heard nothing."

"Room “looked clean”, but once you’ve walked in you’re hit with a wet carpet smell that doesn’t go away. Bed and sheets didn’t have a bad smell. Shower had visible brown water stains almost like the water was not good to use. Did not use shower. Slept a couple hrs and left."

"I thoroughly enjoyed my two-nights stay at Charlotte Hotel. The property is charming and in excellent condition. The breakfast I ate in the on-site restaurant was delicious. The location is conveniently located within walking of restaurants, cafe, pub and a community theater. I would definitely stay here again."

"There was a strange smell in the desk lobby. The listing doesn't explicitly say outdoor room access, which is definitely lost on the "Studio 6" name. Its Motel 6 but a different building. The towels were yeloow, which mase my son and I not want to shower. The water was stinky, the toilet bowl and shower had brown stains. There was a bug flying around our room that I had to kill. All in all, not the most comfortable stay, but when stuck to choose between this room and an active blizzard, the room wins. If ever in a similar pinch, I would stay again. Otherwise, no I would not."
