"The staff were great. Very kind and accomodating. The rooms are about what I expected. Nothing fancy but a good place to lay your head. The only legitimate "complaint" I have (if you can call it that) is that the rooms are pretty bright at night. Bring an eye mask. I'm sure I'll stay there again."

"The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. AC was easy to regulate. They have a large pool (which we didn't use). The main drawback was that there was no hooks or towel racks in the bathroom. There were no clothes hangers or much of a place to use them. I guess people who go to beach areas don't need to hang up their clothes and go to the shower in the nude."

"Rosie and Michael were unbelievable- Rosie made us feel at home immediately as we entered the Manor. The location was perfect for the area of Galveston that we were exploring. We enjoyed our visit - so much was because of the George Manor, their staff, and the porches with rocking chairs. We are so thankful we stayed there."

"Beautifully restored/maintained 1800's property with all the niceties. We stayed here as a stopover during travel before boarding our cruise out of the Port of Galveston near by. The staff made us feel welcome, was very accommodating of our arrival delay and took the time to make sure we knew where all the comforts were and that we were well settled. Breakfast was amazing and fresh. We will definitely stay here anytime we visit Galveston!"

"Everything was great, especially the welcoming and accommodating staff. The pool is great and the location convenient. We stayed during a Monday and Tuesday so the restaurant wasn’t open. The food we tried was good but some was bland such as the Caesar salad and the ceviche (campechana) and the kids pasta. The chicken sandwich was really good. Good beer selection, reasonable prices. My family enjoyed our stay. I would definitely go back and recommend it."

"This place is false advertisement. First room we got was covered in black mold everywhere beds included, so they moved us to the room next door. It also had some black mold even one of the pillows had mold. I went to thr office around 1:00am and asked for a couple extra pillows and was told it was to late bc house keeping is closed and that it was almost 1 am. Like I didnt know the time. "Great romantic weekend hotel. Lots of historical photos and history. Had a real 1920’s feel to the hotel and decor. Restaurant was great as was the staff. We purposely chose the Galvez. for a romantic get away for the weekend to use pool and bar. The pool was closed for some health related reason. Though I appreciate their concern for cleanliness, it kinda ruined our plans for the weekend. Completely not their fault, just bad luck on our part. We cut our stay short and moved to another hotel...
