I don't understand why this property has such high ratings. It's cheap, but really not that cheap to justify the problems.
First the good: the breakfast is ok. It has eggs, meat, and avocados. But nothing particularly good. I would have rather got breakfast from a restaurant nearby. The packed breakfasts are a small granola bar, juice box, water, and crackers.
Staff were polite.
Now the bad. No heating. Front desk had some old space heaters but Cusco gets very cold in the evening and morning. Coming home to a cold hotel is straight awful.
Even worse, the showers have serious issues with hot water. It takes about 5 minutes for hot water to come out, if it comes out. It often doesn't and if it does it will go from hot to cold at a moment's notice. With cold being painfully cold. Often there was just no hot water at all and I'd give up.
No kettles in the room. No facial tissue in the room. No coffee machine in the room. No hair driver in the room.
The overhead light doesn't fully turn off at night and lights up the room a bit.
Bathroom had a rusted shelf.
