Excellent and attentive staff. Very nice rooms. They have a service to take you to and from the airport for a reasonable cost. On my next visit, I will stay there again.

The hotel itself offers a clean, comfortable room with excellent housekeeping services, making for a mostly pleasant stay. While the local breakfast was acceptable, the quantity and quality was poor and had to order additional food which was an additional charge, and the other breakfast options were limited, of poor quality, and insufficient. The need to order extra items led to additional charges, which seemed excessive, with literally 100-peso fee per item delivered to the room. Even a single coffee was charged and the hotel attempted to charge 1700 pesos on top of only 4000 pesos worth of room service items ordered. Our experience was further marred by an unfortunate billing dispute; staff were unhelpful and even made a late-night call at 1.15 am regarding the bill before checkout. Holding my guest’s passport until the charges were settled felt unnecessary and intrusive. While the room itself was enjoyable, the experience was soured by these extra fees and billing issues with staff giving little autonomy to handle the issue. In the future, I’d recommend Big 8 Hotel or similar for a better value, more facilities and more breakfast options on a buffet.

The hotel itself offers a clean, comfortable room with excellent housekeeping services, making for a mostly pleasant stay. The small rooftop terrace pool is a nice facility. While the American breakfast was acceptable, it was insufficient and additional food was charged, and the other breakfast options were limited, of poor quality, and also insufficient. The need to order extra items led to additional charges, which seemed excessive, with a 100-peso fee per item delivered to the room. The hotel seemed peso pinching and claimed the room service charge was clear and part of hotel policy but no common sense charging was applied with 1700 pesos charged for 4000 pesos of items delivered during the week. Often the room Service Charge well exceeded the cost of the item. Beware ordering a cup of coffee. No tea or coffee making facilities in room. The experience was further marred by an unfortunate billing dispute; staff were unhelpful and even made a late-night call on the day before checkout regarding the bill at 1.15am. They then proceeded the guest’s passport until the charges were settled or agreed felt unnecessary and intrusive. While the room itself was enjoyable, the experience was soured by these extra fees and billing issues with front desk having little autonomy or common sense approach simply referring to signage and hotel policy . In the future, I’d recommend Big 8 Hotel or similar for a better value buffet breakfast with far more options and fairer charging .

Quite honestly the worst hotel experience i've ever had. We stayed at Shine Boutique Hotel for 10 days as every other hotel in Tagum were already fully booked. (It is not worth it to stay here considering how much you are paying for a night) -First night we stayed - we got to our room and our beddings were stained, hair and debris all over the sheets and pillows. It looked like they didn't even bother to change the beddings. - We had a night where we couldn't use our bathroom sink and shower because they "ran out of water". Our sink was clogged and it wouldn't drain. Our toilet was loud and making weird noises. - My fiance and I were charged 5,000 for airport drop-off only(not including pick up). (Neither my partner or I are locals so we didn't know that was too expensive).My family confronted the hotel and the manager refused to talk to them directly. They ended up refunding us 1k. When asked for an original receipt, they gave us a handwritten one. - The room that we were in smelled like gas and there was a loud beeping sharp noise outside our room that would go off every 30 minutes. I was already aware that this hotel isn't luxurious therefore i wasn't expecting a lot. I atleast expected professionalism and cleanlinesss.
