"Staff was very courteous but the hallways on the 4 th floor were dilapidated and in need of serious repairs.
It’s a beautiful location and a grand colonial hotel which is a national treasure. It’s sad that the rooms and plumbing are in pretty bad shape. I would love to stay there again provided the bathrooms, tge plumbing and the hallway conditions are improved "

"I recently visited Colombo for 5 days in October 2025 and stayed at 50 by the Sea - Had an excellent stay there and all my expectations were met - at times went above the expectations also. The apartment looks very new, is very well maintained and most importantly, its extremely clean. Ive visited Colombo many times and many times, I faced the issue of not so clean bathrooms at some residences - at 50 by the Sea, the bathrooms were so clean and neat that it looked like a 5 star hotel's...
