Devils Fork State Park

Lake Jocassee, the gorgeous blue heart of the Jocassee Gorges, is actually a man-made lake. It was created when the Jocassee Dam was built in 1973. ... flooding the town. Attakulla Lodge, an old hotel, is still standing at the bottom of Lake Jocassee, under 300 feet of water. You can dive here and see a gas station and the cemetery.

This is an over look of Lake Jocassee at Devil's Fork State Park in South Carolina USA
Lake Jocassee is a 7,500-acre, 300-foot deep reservoir located in northwest South Carolina created by the state in partnership with Duke Power in 1973. The lake is commonly known for the clean and cold Appalachian mountain rivers that feed the lake to keep its waters cool and clear year-round. I love kayaking here surrounded by mountains and several water fall around the lake.
So much to do at Devil's Fork. Fishing, boating, camping, all water sports, Scuba Diving, hiking and so much more. https://southcarolinaparks.com/devils-fork/top-5
