"When you first arrive the outside appearance of the hotel is terrible. Paint peeling off, name letters missing, and plaster falling off. However, all the public areas are excellent internally. I had a standard twin which was fine, although the shower was quite old and inflexible. The beds were very comfortable and so otherwise the room was fine. The sea view makes it!!!!! "This is an old rooming house that has seen better days, say around 1910. Perhaps it is better in summer when one can have windows open, but the apartment stank of mildew. The electricity is on a meter and one must put coins in to keep it going. In winter they grant a base of a few pounds of electricity per day, but this seems a very out of date system. Finally, the shower did not function. This rooming house was just about the only option for those wishing for a room in Port Erin at the time...
