The explanation was some rooms had been renovated so wasn’t completely set up. The AC in the room was right up against the bed by my face instead of at the other end of the wall. For breakfast we had to wait for...

"You get what you pay for, it was dingy and run down and the rooms felt worse than job corps dorms. I felt dirty just by being within its walls. I didn’t stay the night, I left. And of course Expedia won’t refund 😒but yeah. Even if it was advertised as a hostel it would not be suitable."

"Found a cockroach on the refrigerator of our room. The eyehole on the door was cracked and could not see clearly in the hallway. Mold in the bathroom sink. Hotel door was jingling most of the night. Ringing/vibrating phone from the room next door kept us up most of the night."
