"I don't usually write reviews, but it really bothers me that this motel was rated so highly—which is what prompted me to book it—yet failed to meet those expectations in any way. "Overall this was a typical average budget hotel. Looks like it's been remodeled within the past few years, Linens were clean and comfortable, towels were a lot tired, carpet was clean, some of the furniture was not so clean. If you have a first-floor room, either don't be shy or don't like natural daylight because there's not even a diffuser curtain. Just blackouts. "I have stayed here several times over the years bicycling up north. This the Belgium Inn is falling apart. The room I had the bathroom faucet barely had any water flowing. It took 41 seconds to fill a 9 oz cup. I used the bathtub to wash my hands. They also overcharged me but when I showed them the price on Expedia they refunded the difference."

"Stay was okay. Two things we wish were better, Highway noise was pretty loud and air conditioning did not have a fan-always-on mode. When the air cycled off the traffic noise was all night. Tip for travelers, the odd numbered rooms face the highway. Even number rooms may be quieter. If we were to stay again, we would bring a fan. On a positive note, being located next to a good restaurant was a plus (Water Street)."
