"First time in Sandakan and it was such a refreshing stay before heading to Kinabatangan. What really stood out was the warm, attentive, and informative staff who made everything so easy and welcoming. I also absolutely loved the pool, perfect for unwinding after a day out. "We have never been to an area like this before and came because of the wildlife and culture. Sepilok Forest Edge Resort provided both. We were so impressed with the friendliness of the staff, the way Sepilok invites you into their culture and the way the lodge was built with the environment in mind. "

"It was only a brief stopover before a river cruise so didn't expect much and I guess it met expectations. Area around the hotel was a little dirty and there wasn't much to walk to. Hotel room was basic (fine) and the sheets and floor were clean. Bathroom wasn't as clean. Had a TV but it came with a 2 prong plug ??? Which makes no sense when its a 3 prong country! Breakfast very limited for western palate - no fruit or breaded things apart from toast. Overall as expected - not sure it's 3 star...

"We had the most incredible stay here! Jason and his team really looked after us from start to finish. Our guide Ryan was extremely knowledgable and made such an effort to ensure we saw as much wildlife as possible; we paid a little extra to do the morning cruise which was 100% worth it. We were also very impressed with the food which was made fresh and tasted delicious. Special thanks again to Jason who was the perfect host full of warmth and great advice. We feel very lucky to have stayed here...
