"Max 2 star property. We were given the room called ‘tiny double’ which was awful. The bedding and pillows smelt damp. The fire alarm went off whenever we used the shower because of the steam even when we kept the bathroom door closed. There was no floor space at all once our suitcase was opened. For just under £300 per night it is shocking. Breakfast was so basic. We ordered a full english for £18 but had for pay extra for toast?! We were told that because we booked via expedia we had to pay...

"Apologies to the knights rest, but we didn't actually stay there. I booked it on the day for 2 nights through hotels.com. However ten minutes before arriving at our destination the hotel rang me to say that they were closed and on holiday themselves. They apoligised and said hotels.com should have checked their diary and not booked any rooms out. They would be putting in a complaint via Expedia. Have since tried to contact hotels.com to be constantly told by a virtual agent to hang tight,...

"The bedroom was a beautiful room but a bit tired but it seems the rooms are being updated,the en suite had been already.What makes The Old Ship Aground stand out head and shoulders are the staff,every single member of staff was delightful,they were happy and took an interest in each guest,never experienced it anywhere before. We will definitely be returning soon,amazing situation by the harbour,like a little village on its own although Minehead is only a 10 minute walk.

"We love historic places to stay at. The George fit that perfectly. The room was full of charm and character. Modern it is not, but we knew this going in and we expected what they delivered.
