"We chose this hotel due to the closer access to the sounds but ended up falling in love with Te Anau! You have to visit the Redcliff restaurant if you stay here. The apartment we stayed in was huge, I never knew how much I needed a LayZ boy chair until I stayed here. The towels were big and fluffy, unlike anywhere else we stayed during the three weeks. The lady on the front desk was incredibly friendly and helpful. I just wish we’d stayed longer, two nights wasn’t enough. Views of the lake were...

"Close to lake, walks and shopping "

"Arrived at the hotel in the midst of a severe wind storm. The front desk staff were busy dealing with multiple issues including a new reservation system, but were polite and offered 2 drink vouchers to use while awaiting check-in. They were quickly able to get us checked in. Rooms were clean and comfortable with parking right outside the room. Beds were comfortable. Check out was simple. All staff were very accommodating and polite."

"This was the most gorgeous and quirky place to stay. We loved the heritage features and the creative atmosphere that has really shown off the fact that the owner has a good imagination. Consider a combination of an old convent building, beautiful spacious grounds, and then add a dollop of Alice in Wonderland. We were very happy with our stay in the bishops cottage, loved the location, and will come back to stay here as soon as we can plan another visit to Te Anau."

"Loved our overnight cruise on Milford Sound! Shared a quad cabin room and though small & cozy, was a perfect place to sleep & so good to wake up to a great view!! Food on the cruise was excellent & all the staff very helpful & informative! One of our highlights on our holiday I would definetly recomend a stay on the Fiordland Jewel !! "

"This is an excellent hotel, we had a villa which was so spacious as we are away for an extended time we have lots of bags. I cannot praise the staff enough, from reception, bar and restaurant to housekeeping, everyone was great, even let me check out late for no cost when our trip plans got changed at the last minute "
