"I checked in around 3 pm. A female receptionist came out as soon as I enter the lobby. Lobby was clean and smelled nice. I did not receive welcome gifts. The next morning there were bunch of welcome bags sitting the back of the front desk so definitely not out of stock. I do not know why the receptionist did not give to me. I was charged $20 when checked in and told that it will be refunded at the time of check out. When checking out, I was told that it will take a couple of days. Now I have to...

"We stayed in Room 3, if the other rooms were as great as ours then it would be hard to beat this location. The view of the river and sunset were awesome. The restaurant service would be hard to beat anywhere and the food was excellent. All in all we loved our stay at Surry Seafood Inn."

Phones were not working and most of the buttons on the key pad were missing, roaches under the sink in the bathroom, night stands did not have handles or were missing screws, tv remote could only turn on tv and only provided on channel to watch, . "A new building designed in the style of colonial era homes. Larry and Patricia were terrific hosts. Breakfast was made to order and amazing, including biscuits made according to Larry’s grandmother’s recipe. Comfy bed, plush towels. The dimmer switches for the lights are a great touch. Plenty of parking, nice large backyard with tons of birds. Remote location so it’s nice and quiet. Absolutely would stay here again! "

My granddaughter was disappointed and we went elsewhere for breakfast. breakfast as an amenity is part of the reason we choose holiday inn express. a protocol to get units repaired or replaced "quickly" should be instituted and customers should be made aware of the issue during check in. Ac did not function properly the first night. Reported issues to staff-they fixed the ac & replaced the shower curtain. Luckily there were 2 bathrooms so we used the other shower. "Dirty pool, the roof in the pool area had mold. The toilet kept running and flushing itself. This was the worst experience I've ever had from an embassy suite location. Very disappointed"

"This was a great stay for the price. Our 2 br unit had some raggedy moments, but it's obviously an old property. The first thing we saw upon entry was a huge burn in the carpet (might wanna touch that up). The couches looked like somebody's grandma died on them. On the other hand, the bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Bathrooms clean and stocked. The pool and amenities were great for kids. Overall a good stay. We'd book again."
