"A classic hotel, nostalgic vibe. This was our third stay. Fantastically clean. Excellent staff. Adorable bar. Perfect location near GWU and all local DC landmarks. "

"The mattresses on both beds and the couch were awful! Left with back pain. Will never stay there again. "

"Menu limited and not quality i had hoped for with the reviews. Bed linens were changed daily which i LOVED and room was pretty clean but old (coffee?) stain on wall and front of sink in the bathroom. They provide copious towels and soap/shampoo (didnt have to beg for more). There is no coffee machine in the room but they do have a coffee station in common area. The most frustrating part was the fact that i came with a corporate card in my boss' name for the weekend (same card i had booked under) and it became a whole thing. They tried to take my debit card for incidentals but were going to charge several hundred dollars on check in and refund later. As this was a work trip and i had been given my boss' credit card i had not anticipated needing my personal card and didn't have the several hundred dollars they tried to run through. Needless to say it was declined (as i warned staff it would be). They wouldn't take a verbal auth from my boss but needed a form filled out and signed to use corp card. Had i been aware of that i would have come prepared. Boss was driving and it made me feel like an idiot and pauper waiting to be admitted to hotel. Side note for anyone that has a hard time with stairs, there is a flight of about 15ish stairs in the lobby to get to the elevator as well as into the building. Not a problem for me but my dad came to breakfast one day and had just had a knee replacement. Door to my room didnt align w frame but i understand old hotel. Bath fan loud as jet"

"Lots to pack in regarding our stay at this hotel, some good some not so good. We booked a suite months in advance. When we checked in late in the day about 8:30 the staff put us in an ADA room for disabled people. We are not disabled and did not request this. Nowhere to hang clothes and the shower was for a weelchair. We asked to be changed to non ADA suite but were told non were available. So my assumption is that they overbooked the suites and since we got there late, this was all they had left. They then put us in a regular king size bed room.
The next morning when we went for breakfast (that I had prepaid for) we were told we did not have free breakfast. We went to the desk before heading out for the day and asked if we could get a suite for the remainder of our trip and were told to check back at 4:00 after check in. We did and were in fact put in a suite for the rest of the trip and the pre-paid breakfast was sorted out and was fine.
The suite was fine, the bed was comfortable but the sofa was not good. Very small. There were some holes in the carpeting.
On 2 consecutive days after sightseeing all day we came back to find out housekeeping had not been to our room. I went to the desk and told them and was told they'd have someone up in a few minutes. 40 minutes later I went down again to tell them house keeping was still not there and they finally came. The second day I went to the desk and calmly told them I was pretty pissed off and they sent someone "

"The front desk staff was absolutely amazing. Very helpful! The rooms were clean and the pool was a good added touch for our stay. The only complaint I have was the food. The breakfast buffet was like having nothing because it wasn’t good at all. There’s alot of near by good restaurants so it wasn’t that bad of a deal. Def would stay again! "
